Bringing a Modern Franklin Lakes Backyard Design to Life

When a homeowner in Franklin Lakes approached us with a vision for a modern pool design,in a resort-style backyard, the goal was never just to add a pool — it was to completely transform how they lived outdoors. Designed by Foxterra Design, this project called for a cohesive, four-season outdoor living environment that was as functional as it was striking. At Scenic Landscaping and Tranquility Pools, our role was to bring that vision to life with precision, craftsmanship, and attention to every detail.

From Design Concept to Constructed Reality

Collaborating with Foxterra Design gave this project a strong foundation from the start. Their plans emphasized clean architectural lines, intentional flow, and a layout centered around how the homeowners would truly use the space — from entertaining to quiet relaxation.

Our team handled the full execution of the build, including pool construction, hardscaping, outdoor living areas, lighting, fire features, and landscaping. Every phase of construction required careful coordination to ensure that the finished space reflected the integrity of the original design while exceeding expectations in quality and durability.

The result is a backyard that feels purposeful, cohesive, and expertly crafted from every angle.

A Modern Space Designed for Comfort & Year-Round Enjoyment

One of the most defining achievements of this project is how it balances a modern pool design with warmth and livability. Rather than feeling stark or overly minimal, the space feels refined yet inviting. Materials were thoughtfully selected to soften the clean lines of the architecture and create visual contrast throughout the yard.

Just as importantly, this backyard was designed for more than just summer. Fire features, strategic lighting, comfortable seating zones, and protected gathering areas ensure that the homeowners can enjoy their outdoor space through multiple seasons — not just during pool weather.

Standout Features That Define the Space

Several custom elements help elevate this backyard from beautiful to truly exceptional:

• The sculptural modern pool design acts as both a recreational feature and a visual centerpiece, giving the yard movement, reflection, and architectural interest.
• Layered outdoor living zones create distinct areas for swimming, dining, lounging, and gathering without making the space feel cluttered.
• A fully equipped outdoor kitchen & dining area supports effortless entertaining, whether it’s a casual family dinner or a larger social event.
• Thoughtful landscaping & lighting integration enhances privacy, highlights architectural lines, and ensures the backyard feels just as inviting in the evening as it does during the day.

Every component was built to complement the overall design and provide long-term enjoyment for the homeowners.
