If you’re thinking about having a backyard pool installed in your New Jersey home, there are a lot of designs for NJ pools to choose from. Inground swimming pools are now becoming more popular due to their durability and wider space. You can host gatherings and parties in your backyard and enjoy a nice swim at the same time.
Having a pool is not as easy as digging a hole in the ground, however. Joseph Truini from Popular Mechanics shared his experience in landscaping an inground swimming pool:
Back then, aboveground swimming pools were popular, but “dug-in” pools were rather rare. In fact, there was only one in our entire neighborhood. Times sure have changed: According to the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals, there are about 5 million existing inground pools in the U.S., and 175,000 to 200,000 new pools are built each year.
Inground swimming pools have become popular because they are landscape friendly and have plenty of design options available to suit your desired theme. In choosing your design, consider first the shape of the pool. Rectangular pools are the most common ones, although you can also have an L-shaped pool which is ideal if you have children. You can divide the pool and keep one of the sections shallow. Choose the appropriate materials to finish up your preferred landscape design.
Go for a design that you can afford. Landscaping a swimming pool is a significant investment, so be sure you have enough funds allocated for the project. Your costs will depend on the type of pool you want: Concrete pools are usually the most expensive, so you might want to try other affordable and equally durable options such as vinyl and fiberglass. Take care not to overspend on accessories since you don’t need to get them all to have a presentable pool.
The design phase is only half the battle. An inground pool installation also necessitates some paperwork. Secure a building permit and ask officials in your area for approval before you start digging. Pick a spot to place your pool, and make sure that your pool isn’t placed in an area that will inconvenience you and your neighbors. Keeping your water clean is a high priority, so don’t forget to choose a reliable circulation system for your swimming pool.
These things will prove to be too stressful for you to handle alone, so you can seek the assistance of NJ inground pool builders such as Tranquility Pools. These professionals can handle any step in the process of building a pool, allowing you to focus on the design or other aspects that you want to attend to the most.
