Inground Swimming Pools in NJ Give Health, Social, Financial Benefits

August 2nd, 2014 | By: Mitchell Knapp | Pool & Spa Design

A well-made NJ inground swimming pool can benefit its owner in a couple of ways. First of all, the main benefit of having a swimming pool is that you can swim on a regular basis. The health benefits of this are enormous. As an example, Brian Parr recently wrote an article for the Aiken Standard about the health benefits of swimming and how it can help burn calories:

“Swimming is a great way to burn calories, too. Even at a moderate pace, swimming laps for 30 minutes can burn more than 200 calories.

The exact energy expenditure depends on the stroke (butterfly is highest, backstroke is lowest) and the speed, but for most people, swimming will burn as many calories as spending the same amount of time exercising on land.”

The fat-burning properties of a daily swim are just the beginning. Swimming is an excellent low-impact, whole body exercise that anyone can do. The high resistance that the water presents challenges your body’s muscles and cardiovascular system; this greatly increases a person’s strength and stamina, a definite health benefit.

Improving your body isn’t just the only thing you can get out of having a pool installed at home. A swimming pool is a great tool in getting socially acquainted with people. Invite your neighbors and co-workers to a pool party to connect with them. The summer months will also be a lot more comfortable if you can easily take a dip when needed.

A swimming pool is also a perfect way to get your family together. Backyard picnics centered around the pool on lazy weekends are better than just having your kids going to malls and other places. It can also provide a venue for you and your significant other to have a romantic date; nothing like a poolside dinner under the starlight and lit by candles.

Financially, a swimming pool can be an excellent investment. Installing inground swimming pools in NJ requires the help of professional contractors like Tranquility Pools Inc. and they often need a bit of landscaping, too, to fit the pool well into your backyard. This can turn your ordinary backyard into something more aesthetically pleasing – a great way to add value to your property. Additionally, a pool can be an attractive factor for a buyer to choose your house when it comes time to sell.
